Wayne Robert Dalton
April 24, 1946 - April 16, 2015
DALTON......
Wayne Robert Dalton, age 68, of Newport Corner, Hants County.
It is with sadness that we announce the sudden death of Wayne, who passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2015, in the Halifax Infirmary, Q.E. II, Halifax, due to an accident at his home in Newport Corner.
Born on April 24, 1946 in Montreal, Quebec, he was the son of Merle (Anthony) and the late George H. Dalton.
Wayne graduated from Hants West Rural High School and went on to a career in steel fabrication. He had formerly worked with Maritime Steel, Halifax Metal Workers and retired from Marid Industries Ltd., Windsor Junction. He had a love of carpentry and there was nothing he couldn’t fix. He will be greatly missed by the whole family for his handyman qualities. Wayne had a great love of boats and fishing. He was very proud of his boat the ‘Matthew Troy’, that he and his brother-in-law, Jim built from scratch. He spent many peaceful hours out on the Minas Basin fishing and duck hunting.
He is survived by his mother, Merle (Anthony) Dunbar, Newport Corner; son, Matthew (Heather), Ellershouse and their children, Alexander, Danielle and Abbey; son, Troy (Natasha), Dartmouth and their child, TJ; sisters, Andrea (Donnie) Dauphinee, Newport Corner; Barbara (Wendell) Carroll, Newport Corner, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his step-father, Raymond Dunbar; brother, Leigh Dunbar; his former wife, Betty (Greene); grandparents, Inez and Wilton Anthony; Annie and Philip Dalton.
There will be no visitation by request.
A private family service will be held at the Ste. Croix Cemetery, St. Croix.
Donations in Wayne’s memory may be made to a charity of one`s choice.
