<div itemprop="description">DOOKS...... <br> <br>Rose "Rosie" Hazel (Card) Dooks or known by many as "Nanny Dooks", age 80 of Cheverie, Hants County, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. <br> <br>Born in Burlington, Hants County, Nova Scotia, on September 17, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Silbert and Jenny (Dodge) Card. Together with her loving husband of 61 years, Emerson Dooks, she helped raise their two beloved children, Heather Lake and Mitchell Dooks, and many foster children throughout the years. <br> <br>She spent her career working as a Personal Care Worker at Ocean View Manor where she enjoyed many years of service. She loved spending time at their camp with the kids and grandchildren. She enjoyed time on their speed boat, flounder and bass fishing, going to community dances, house parties, camping and jam sessions. Most of Rose's favorite pastimes were spent with family and friends. Rose created many great memories with her lovely quilts. You could always see Rose toe-tapping to a good tune at the bluegrass festivals or alongside Emerson cheering on their grandchildren and great-grandchildren's various sports and events. <br> <br>Rose is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Emerson; daughter, Heather Lake (Richie); son, Mitchell Dooks (Stacey); grandchildren, who she always adored, Amanda Burgess (Scott), Tracey Burgess (Davie), Laura Lake (Tyler), Cody Lake, Brandon Dooks (Courtney), Chass Dooks (Chantz), Allanah Dooks (Randy); great-grandchildren, who always put a sparkle in her eye, Tenaya and Makiah; brothers, Walter (Shirley), Mervyn, Laurie (Donna) and David (Sharon) and many nieces and nephews. <br> <br>Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Sonny; and sister in law, Kathleen. <br> <br>Cremation has taken place under the care of Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King St., P.O. Box 2218, Windsor, B0N 2T0. <br> <br>Rose’s wishes were for no funeral service but there will be a celebration of life at the Burlington Community Hall, 2-4 pm Sunday, February 12, 2017. <br> <br>We would like to thank the nursing staff at Dykeland Lodge for their Palliative Care Support during her short stay. <br> <br>Donations in memory may be made to the Palliative Care Room at Dykeland Lodge. <br> <br>To add your condolences, click on “Contribute” at www.lindsaysfuneralhome.com <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br></div>
