<div itemprop="description">WRIGHT..... <br /> <br />Joseph Spencer Wright, age 91, of Ardoise, Hants County, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2014, in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on July 23, 1922 in Fairview, Halifax County, Nova Scotia, he was a son of the late Joseph William and Mabel Ella (Boutilier) Wright. <br /> <br />Joe enlisted in the RCASC serving overseas during WWII with the 84th Battalion, 2nd Armoured Brigade, Army Service Corp. When he returned home he married Ola and worked as a self-employed carpenter and mechanic and enjoyed raising cattle and farming on their Maple Slope Farm in Ardoise. In later years, Joe and Ola enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends in Canada and the U.S. and driving across Canada to Alaska twice. <br /> <br />Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Ola May (Dodge) Wright; sons, Wade (Susie), Martock; Raymond (Susan), Ardoise; daughter, Leola (Lloyd) Canavan, South Alton, Kings County; grandchildren, Michael, Sheldon, Bryan, Spencer, Jason; great-grandchildren; step grandchildren; step great grandchildren; step great-great grandchildren; sister, Helen (John) Wilson, Dartmouth; several nieces and nephews. <br /> <br />Besides parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Dorothy Pemberton (2010); granddaughter, Erin Pemberton (2003); brothers, Nelson and Harold; sisters, Mary Dearman and Mabel Leonard. <br /> <br />Burial in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor and a memorial service will be announced at a later date. <br /> <br />Donations in Joe&rsquo;s memory may be made to the &ldquo;Dialysis Fund&rdquo; at the Hants Community Hospital Foundation, 89 Payzant Drive, Windsor, N.S.
