<div itemprop="description">McGARVIE...... <br> <br>Brian “Heck” McGarvie, of Stanley, Hants County, passed away peacefully at Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, with family by his side on Wednesday, February 1, 2017. <br> <br>Brian is survived by his brother, Jeff of Stanley, his sister, Krista (Donnie) Cox, of Clarksville; niece, Janelle; nephews, Keith and Ryan. His children, Pam, of Brooklyn; Kim (Jeff) Hennigar of St. Croix; Jamie (Leanne) of Kingston; three grandchildren. <br> <br>He was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Kathleen (Northup) McGarvie; and brother, Gregory. <br> <br>During his working years Brain was a Heavy Equipment Operator, working in construction all over Nova Scotia. He worked with Dillman Construction, Dexter Construction, Howard Little Excavating, and Sackville Trenching. Brian loved to tell old stories of the places he worked and various boarding houses he stayed in during his early working years; he loved spending time with his brother Jeff, cutting wood; and Saturday mornings on the post peeler with Troy and Jeff, followed by an evening sitting under Troy’s tree having a few beer. <br> <br>A Graveside service will be held 2 p m, Saturday February 4, 2017, at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Stanley, followed by a Celebration of Brian’s life at Stanley Community Hall. <br> <br>Cremation has taken place under the care of Lindsay Windsor Funeral Home (902-798-2232), 194 King Street, P.O.
