REDDEN......
Arthur " Carl" Redden, age 74, of Martock, Hants County, passed away on September 5, 2014 in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born December 26, 1940 in Martock, Hants County, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Russell & Jessie (Sweet) Redden.
A carpenter by trade Carl’s career saw him work on many commercial and residential projects throughout the province. Carl was a proud member of Local 83 of the carpenters’ union for 43 years. In his early years Carl was an avid hunter & outdoorsman. In later years he continued to enjoy the outdoors through gardening and camping. If it was broke dad could fix it, if it needed to be built dad could build it. He thoroughly enjoyed his time playing music and singing with his friends at various Bluegrass Festivals and Jam Sessions.
Surviving are his son, Arch (Terri) Redden, Waverly; daughters, Cathy (Garth) Faulkner, Hantsport; Teresa (Tony) VanWilgenburg, New Minas; grandchildren, Sam, Neil and Sarah Redden, Alex and Riley Faulkner; Winnie, Fiona and Sophie VanWilgenburg; sisters, Suzie (Wade) Wright, Nellie Sherman, Mildred (Charlie) Illsley. Carl also leaves behind a loving companion of 15 years, Joan Flynn (Bowman) and her family.
Carl was predeceased by his loving wife of 37 years, Ruth (Bowman), brother, Mark; sisters, Gussie Hefler & Myrtle Richards.
Visitation will be held 7-9 pm Tuesday, September 9, 2014 in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor (902-798-2232).
Funeral service will 2 pm Wednesday, September 10, 2014 in Lindsay’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Garnet Parker officiating. A private family interment will be held in the Maplewood Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Hants Community Hospital for all the care and support. Thanks to the Nursing Team on Unit 200 for their care and Dr. Kazimirski, Dr. Smith and Dr. Matheson, Bev Lyttle and Dr. McIntyre.
