<div itemprop="description">ABELL...... <br /> <br />George E. &ldquo;Bud&rdquo; Abell, age 81 of Falmouth, Hants County, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2014, at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. <br /> <br />Born in Moncton, New Brunswick, on January 22, 1933, he was a son of the late Claude and Margaret (Irving) Abell. <br /> <br />Bud joined the RCMP in October 1952 and served 36 years, retiring in 1988 with rank of Staff Sergeant. He was a member of the Nova Scotia RCMP Veteran's Association. Bud was District Governor of Gyro in 1990 and International President in 1996/97. He was past president of the Avon Valley Golf Course. Bud&rsquo;s hobbies included golf, curling, traveling and playing bridge. <br /> <br />Bud is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Geraldine &ldquo;Gerry&rdquo; (Mills) Abell; sons, Richard (Pam) Abell, Falmouth; Gary (Donna) Abell, Sussex, New Brunswick; daughters, Heather (Brad) Shears, Kippens, Newfoundland; Karen (Terry) Dykens, Kentville; grandchildren, Sara, Tyler, Ryan, Matthew, Kayla, Nicole, Samantha and Katlyn; sister, Norma (Bill) Lutes, St. Thomas, New Brunswick. <br /> <br />There will be no visitation by request. <br /> <br />Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2014, in Lindsay&rsquo;s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel, 194 Kings Street, Windsor, with the Rev. Bill Gibson officiating. <br /> <br />Private Family burial will follow in the Centre Falmouth Cemetery, Falmouth. <br /> <br />In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one&rsquo;s choice. <br /> <br />The family would like to thank the Nova Scotia RCMP Veteran&rsquo;s Association for the support we have received throughout Bud&rsquo;s illness. <br /> <br />To add your condolence click on &quot;contribute&quot;. <br /> <br /></div>
