<div itemprop="description">Barbara Ruth Loomer <br>1932 ~ 2017 <br>Falmouth, Hants County <br> <br>Barbara Ruth Loomer (nee: Hood), age 85, of Falmouth, Hants County, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017, at the Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth. <br> <br>Born on March 7, 1932, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Margaret (Underwood) Hood. <br> <br>Barbara graduated from the Windsor Academy, class of 1950, and then did her nursing training at the Payzant Memorial Hospital, Windsor, graduating from the class of 1953. She was a registered nurse for over 42 years, at the Payzant Memorial and also the Hants Community Hospital. She was a member of the former Juniper Grove United Church Choir for 50 years and also a member of the Church Bell Choir. <br> <br>She is survived by her daughters, Kim Loomer, Three Mile Plains; twins: Dawn Black, and Gail O’Leary (Harold MacKenzie), Falmouth; grandchildren, Jade (Devin) Johnson, Greenwich; Troy Lang, Three Mile Plains; Tristan O’Leary, Falmouth; Jeslyn O’Leary, Edmonton, Alta.; sisters-in-law, Hope Fraser, Wolfville; Jocelyn (Herb) Kruger, Kitchener, Ont.; brother-in-law, Bruce (Judy) Loomer, Truro; several nieces and nephews. <br> <br>Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Gordon Loomer (2011). <br> <br>Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 16, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, P.O. Box 2218, Windsor, NS, B0N 2T0 <br> <br>Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2017, in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Bill Gibson officiating.
