<div itemprop="description">GILBERT...... <br> <br>Sheila May (nee: Whidden) Gilbert, age 69 of Currys Corner, Hants County, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 31, 2016, surrounded by family and friends. At the time of her death, Sheila was on holidays in Alberta visiting with her son and family. <br> <br>Born on February 15, 1947, in Truro, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Moyle and Thora (Barkhouse) Whidden. <br> <br>Sheila is survived by her husband of 51 years, Bruce; her sons, Steven (Michelle) and his partner Tara, Lower Sackville; Gregory (Deborah), Beaumont, Alberta; and daughter, Karen Murgatroyd (Steve), Truro. Beloved grandmother to Michael, Terry, Noah, Simon, Gillian and Kayleigh. Sheila is also survived by sisters, Frances Diamond, Lower Sackville; Barbara “Barbie” Whidden, Bible Hill; Vicki Whidden, Brookfield; brothers, Havey, Stewiacke, and David, Brookfield; as well as their spouses and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. <br> <br>Sheila was predeceased by her parents, Moyle and Thora (Barkhouse) Whidden; sister, Anne Bullock; nephew, Michael Whidden. <br> <br>Sheila enjoyed traveling south in the winters and would always have a crowd by the pool in Florida.
