<div itemprop="description"> <p> <b> <u> SANFORD </u> </b> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> <b> Russell Royce Sanford </b> , 82, of Windsor, Hants County, passed away Friday, September 14th, 2012, in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. </p> <p> </p> <p> Born on March 6th, 1930, in Windsor, Hants County, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Ervine and Ada (Cox) Sanford. </p> <p> </p> <p> Russell spent much of his early years farming, he then worked as a carpenter with many contractors in the Windsor and Halifax areas. His garden was what occupied his retirement years and many people admired his wonderful flowers. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time. </p> <p> </p> <p> He is survived by his wife of 60 years, the former Geneva Marion Dawson; daughters, Anne (Bob) Hopper, Falmouth; Robyn Sanford (Tim Redden), Martock; Wendy Sanford, Beaver Bank; Janet (Doug) Matheson, Falmouth; grandchildren, John Warner, Jillian Redden, Benjamin Redden, Caleb Matheson, Colby Matheson and Ashley Sanford-Hopper; great-granddaughter, Ayla Marie Ash; brother, Baden &ldquo;Bill&rdquo; Sanford, Vaughans; brother-in-law, Vernon Swinamer, Upper Vaughan. </p> <p> </p> <p> Besides his parents, Ervine Nash Sanford and Ada Jean (Cox) Sanford; he was predeceased by a sister, Joan Swinamer. </p> <p> </p> <p> There will be no visitation by request. </p> <p> </p> <p> A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, September 17th, 2012, in Lindsay&rsquo;s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel, 194 King Street, Windsor, with the Rev. Bill Gibson officiating. Private family interment will be held in the Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. </p> <p> </p> <p> Family flowers only.
