<div itemprop="description">RAFUSE...... <br /> <br />Olive Rafuse passes at 100 <br /> <br />Olive Elsie Rafuse, age 100, of Upper Vaughan, Hants County, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. <br /> <br />It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to the strongest woman we know. Born on October 21, 1914, in Upper Vaughan (South Waterville), Hants County, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late James and Lucy (Swinamer) Rafuse. <br /> <br />She was a member of the Upper Vaughan Baptist Church and a former member of the Upper Vaughan Ladies Aid. The last number of years were dedicated to crocheting afghans for family and friends. <br /> <br />She is survived by her daughters, Emma &ldquo;Betty&rdquo; Chandler, Upper Vaughan; Matilda &ldquo;Pearl&rdquo; (Dennis) Mosher, Upper Vaughan; Barbara (John) Leckie, Arnprior, Ontario; sons, Lloyd, Upper Vaughan; Frank, Upper Vaughan (Hilda Murphy, Cheverie); Garry (Heather), Upper Vaughan; Michael (Pam), Upper Vaughan; 35 grandchildren, 74 great-grandchildren, 45 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. <br /> <br />Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of sixty-three years, Clark David Rafuse (1995); her sisters, Nina Church, Lucy &ldquo;Dolly&rdquo; Rafuse, Dorothy &ldquo;Dot&rdquo; Gollan, Lena Rafuse; brothers, Harry, Morris, Kenneth, Charlie, John &ldquo;Johnny&rdquo;, Robie and James in infancy. <br /> <br />Olive as the baby of the family has come home to rest. She was also predeceased by her sons, Clark &ldquo;Junior&rdquo;, Paul and Owen; her daughter, Karen Phyllis &ldquo;Bib&rdquo;; son-in-law, Basil; daughters-in-law, Sandy and Shirley; as well as a number of other family members who held a very special place in her heart. <br /> <br />The family wishes a special thank you to Doctor Timothy Matheson and the nurses at the Palliative Care Unit, Hants Community Hospital. <br /> <br />Visitation will be held, 7 - 9:30 p.m. Friday, September 18, in Lindsay&rsquo;s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, P.O. Box 2218, Windsor, B0N 2T0. <br /> <br />Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2015, in Lindsay&rsquo;s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Garnet Parker and Rev. Gail Whalen-Dunn officiating. <br /> <br />Interment will be held in the Vaughan Community Cemetery, Lower Vaughan.
