Mildred "Louise" Laffin
March 1, 1930 - November 27, 2016
Mildred “Louise” Laffin, 86, of East Walton, Hants County, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2016 in the Q.E.II V.G. Site, Halifax. Born on March 1, 1930 in East Walton, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Violet (McLellan) Wheaton.
Louise was well known and well-loved in her community. She loved to dance, socialize and was a huge Elvis fan. Louise was the pillar of her family and everyone looked to her for guidance, love and understanding etc. She was well known for her baking, especially her double breasted loaves of bread.
Surviving son, Gary, Ontario; daughter, Lois (Robert) Carr, Ontario; twin daughters, Jackie (Robert) Ray, Halifax; Kimberley (Randy) Latter, Burlington, Hants County; grandchildren, Amanda (Bernie) Haley, Ontario; Jamie Laffin (Krystle Pelletier), Brooklyn, Hants County; Garrett Brooks (Natasha Pearce), Halifax; Robin Carr, Ontario; Christa Carr (Nelson Rodriguez) Ottawa; Skylar Ray, Halifax; Garth Ray, Halifax; great grandchildren, Alexia Coady-Laffin; Tacoma Louise Laffin; Faith Laffin; Autumn Haley; brother, Gary “Sonny” Wheaton, Cheverie; sisters, Ruby (John) Bennett, Bridgewater; Janet Hill, Walton; Glenda MacDonald, Windsor ; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lester; brothers, Ronald “Ronnie”, James “Jimmy”; sisters, Grace Greene, Arlene “Samantha” Eady.
Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 Wednesday, November 30, 2016 in the Lindsay Windsor Funeral Home (902-798-2232), 194 King Street, Box 2218, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, December 1, 2016 in Lindsay’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Debra Mosher officiating. Burial will be in Tennecape Cemetery, Tennecape.
Donations in Louise’s memory may be made to the SPCA Hants County Branch.
