<div itemprop="description">Joan Dolores Trider, age 81, Falmouth Back Road, Falmouth, Hants County, formerly of Halifax, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2017, at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on January 3, 1936, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Elwood and Catherine (Forbes) Purcell. <br> <br>Joan’s talents and treasures were baking and spending time with her grandchildren and she could often be seen sitting out on her deck in the summer. Joan enjoyed going to the horse shows, and knitting, crocheting and doing cross word puzzles. Her faithful companions Abby and Corona will miss their daily treats from Joan. <br> <br>Joan is survived by daughter, Heather (Chris) Fleming, and their children, Chad, Luke, Cole and Will, Mount Denson; daughter, Joanne (Bob) Langford and their children, Alanah and Linden, Sugar Camp, Cape Breton; daughter, Rhonda (Terry) Munro and their children, Kyla, Grace and Dawson, Gaspereau; son, Glenn Trider (Angie Schofield), Falmouth; sister, Barbara Purcell, Ellershouse; brother, Robert “Tim” (Betty) Purcell, Ellershouse; sisters-in-law, Gloria Trider, Windsor and Lorraine Purcell, Falmouth; numerous nieces, nephews. <br> <br>She is predeceased by her husband, Ronald (2012); brothers, Cyril “Tubby”, Murray “Butch”; sisters, Geraldine “Dolly” Bradbury, Kathleen “Lenie” McGinnis; sister-in-law, Marie (Parsons) Purcell; brothers-in-law, Gordon “Gubby” Bradbury and Walter “Darb” McGinnis. <br> <br>Joan’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the V.O.N. and Northwood Homecare. <br> <br>Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2017 in the Lindsay Windsor Funeral Home Chapel (902-798-2232), 194 King Street, Box 2218, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2017 in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Elizabeth Johnson officiating.
