Jean M. Starratt, age 86, of Hants Border/Windsor, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017, in Dykeland Lodge, Windsor, where she was a resident for the last 15 years.
Born October 31, 1930, in Three Mile Plains, Hants County, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Gladys (Woodman) Boyd.
She is survived by her children, Wanda Zwicker, Hantsport; Ronnie (Colleen), Hants Border; John (Wanda), Edmonton, Alta.; grandchildren, Robbie, Jan and Neil; Jeff and Jason; Brentt and Brad; 10 great grandchildren; siblings, Peggy Bentley; Vivian “Bidy” Stephens; Lawrence Boyd; Marguerite McDermott; Karen Thompson; Donnie Boyd; and Sheila Elliott; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Percy and Gladys (Woodman) Boyd; she was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband, H. Victor Starratt (1990).
Jean was a wonderful, Mom, Nan, and Grandnan. She was a member of the Hantsport Baptist Church and active in the Kings Daughters. She loved to bake, and was renowned for her apple pie and desserts. One of her passions was raising money for the Alzheimer Society.
Visitations will be held 7-9 pm, Thursday, January 19, 2017, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home (902-798-2232), 194 King Street P.O. Box 2218, Windsor.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2017, in the Hantsport Baptist Church, with the Rev. Terry Coldwell officiating. Interment in the Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport.
Family flowers only, donations in Jean’s memory may be made to Dykeland Lodge or a charity of choice.
