COGGAR......
Harry Eugene Coggar, age 90, Currys Corner, Hants County, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2016, at the Fisherman's Memorial Hospital, Veterans Unit, Lunenburg.
Born on August 16, 1926, in Norton, New Brunswick, he was the son of the late Bryan and Anne (Carney) Cogger. Harry moved with his family to Antigonish in 1940.
He was a veteran of the Second World War, having joined the Army R.C.E. in 1944, at the age of 17, as he wanted to serve with his three older brothers who were overseas. He served in Germany as a Driver I/C, transporting supplies for the construction of Bailey Bridges for the advancing Troops. He returned home in 1946 following the end of the war.
In 1947 he attended the Veterans Training Centre, Windsor, after which he started work with Nova Scotia Light and Power Company, retiring in 1986. His passion was his workshop, where he made Pole Trailers, Utility Trailers and restored a number of old horse drawn carriages and sleighs. Claire, Harry and their son Gary, enjoyed camping and travelling in their Motor Home. They also loved to Golf at the Minas View Golf Links, Cambridge. He remained active until the last 4 months.
He is survived by son, Gary, Calgary; sister, Margaret (Marty) Cooper, Florida; special cousin and longtime friends, Julie and Pat Dooley, Windsor; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Claire Hawboldt (2015); brothers, Ted, Louis, Bill, Fred and Gordon; sisters, Helen Boyd and Eileen Venne.

Arrangements are under the care of Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral, 194 King Street, P.O. Box 2218, Windsor, B0N 2T0.
A Private graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday October 26, 2016, at Maplewood Cemetery, 1186 King Street, Windsor, with Father John MacPherson officiating.
Donations in memory of Harry may be made to the St John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Windsor.
