He received many awards recognizing his outstanding volunteer efforts, notably Lion of the Year and the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award for community service. Jeddy was also a member of Jaycees and served as President of the Retired Teachers Organization. He spent his retirement as an active volunteer and took great pleasure in encouraging his grandchildren in their sports and musical pursuits.
