GRAVES......
With heartfelt sadness, we must inform you that Gary Wayne Graves, age 67, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2016, peacefully at home, Noel Shore, Hants County, with family and friends at his side.
Born on December 31, 1948, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Gary was the son of the late Alfred and Adell (Burgess) Graves of Kentville, and his step father, Parker Schofield.
Gary loved and called the Annapolis Valley and the Noel Shore home, although his career took him on many adventures around the world. Gary’s love, passion and creativity for food led to many interesting careers from western Canada, the Arctic, and Bangladesh along with many stops in between. All the while, Gary was honing his skills to fulfill his life dream to come home and build a future here in Nova Scotia. During his life, Gary’s interests were diverse and included student council president at Acadia University, creating the 1st original Gaspereau River Tubing Festival, ministerial facilitator with the Gaspereau Baptist Church, Gaspereau Playground, Rotundus Café, and a career with VON.
Gary is survived by his wife and best friend, Jacklyn Parker; siblings, Wanda Paquin (Terry), London, Ontario; Randy (Kathy) Schofield, Wolfville; Dena (Wade) Bowerman, Red Deer, Alberta; Sandy Carpenter (Ben), Nanaimo, British Columbia; and James Graves, Wolfville; sister-in-law, Karen Graves, Halifax; nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Alfred Warren Graves and Adell Marie (Burgess) Graves-Schofield; his stepfather, Parker Schofield; he was predeceased by a daughter, Tammy Marlene Parker and a brother, Terry Graves.
