CLAES……

Frank William Claes, age 77, of Falmouth, Hants County, passed away at Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth, on Sunday, January 31, 2016.

Frank was born on June 21, 1938, in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, to Frank and Gladys (Lee) Claes. He enjoyed many careers over his working life. He owned and operated a fishing boat, landscaping business, trading post and spent many years operating a taxi.

His real passions were country music, history and antiquing. Much of his free time was spent treasure hunting with his metal detector and his sons. His finds never made him the fortune he was seeking or dreaming of, but gave him and others wonderful memories. He spent many happy and fun days at the family camp in Chezzetcook, where days were relaxed and carefree for him.

By his side for more than 50 years was his loving and loyal wife, Geraldine.

His health deteriorated over the years after he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. He was fortunate to receive truly professional care from the doctors and nursing staff at the Windsor Elms Village. He was loved and cherished by that community, and will be greatly missed.

Frank was predeceased by his wife, Geraldine Claes (Townsend); son, Daniel Lee Claes; son-in-law, Artie Homans; sister, Rosetta Wilson ( Claes); parents, Frank and Gladys Claes.

He is survived by daughters, Darlene Claes-McKinnon, June Rent, Angelina Claes; son, James Claes; sons-in-law, Chris McKinnon and Stephen Rent; grandsons, Gregory Ells, Thomas and Jake McKinnon.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am Thursday, February 4, 2016, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel, 194 King Street, P.O. Box 2218, Windsor, B0N 2T0, followed by a reception and then interment at the Dartmouth Memorial Gardens, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth.

To add your condolences, click on contribute.
