
HOYT
Beatrice Mann Hoyt, age 92, of Centre Burlington, Hants County, passed away on Monday, February 25th, 2013, in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor.
Born on April 3rd, 1920, in Centre Burlington, Hants County, Nova Scotia, she was the only child of the late Harry and Hazel (Mann) Card.
Beatrice was a former School Teacher for 32 years, having taught in Riverside, Upper Burlington, Centre Burlington and retired from the Dr. Arthur Hines Elementary School, Summerville. She was a long-time member of Leila Rebekah Lodge, No.59, Windsor and the Centre Burlington United Church.
She is survived by her son, Dwight (Barbara) Hoyt, Barrie, Ontario; granddaughters, Juliette (Royce) Spencer; Patti Gass (Marc Peterson); and Ami Hoyt-Watanabe; great grandchildren, Terra (Andrew Kasprzak) Spencer; Megan Gass (Ryan Boomer); and Jesse Gass; great great-grandchildren, Sarah Kasprzak; George Kasprzak; Tori Watanabe; and Kai Watanabe; son-in-law, Ed “Fudd” Ogilvie.
Besides her parents, Harry and Hazel (Mann) Card; she was predeceased by her husband, Leslie Hoyt (1958); her daughter, Marilyn Ogilvie (2012); granddaughter, Angela Hoyt (2011); and long-time friend, Archie Blackburn (2003).
Visitation will be 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 27th, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor (902-798-2232).
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 28th, 2013, in the Kempt United Baptist Church, Summerville, with Pastor Betty Parker officiating. A private family interment will be held at the Centre Burlington Cemetery, Centre Burlington, Hants County.
Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Beatrice may be made to the Centre Burlington Cemetery or to the Canadian Red Cross.
