Beacher Lawrence Veinot, age 86, of Ellershouse, Hants County, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2013, in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor.
Born on August 8, 1927 in New Ross, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Jessie (Leopold) Veinot.
Beacher worked for the Nova Scotia Power Corporation where he retired from, after more than thirty eight years of service. During his working years he also worked at his hobby farm and enjoyed working in his garden. He was also a member of the Newport Jolly Seniors.
Surviving are his daughters, Darlene Caldwell, Kings County; Wendy (Jeffrey) Bond, Rawdon; sons, Randy Veinot, Windsor; Kevin (Kimberley) Veinot, Three Mile Plains; stepsons, Keith (Carol) Harvey, Liverpool; Fred (Sylvia) Sanford, Belmont, Hants County; Lincoln Sanford (Elaine O’Leary), Brooks, Alberta; stepdaughters, Kaye (Brian) Whalen, Kentville; Anne (Robert) Penner, Brooks, Alberta; sister, Nita (Breton) Gates-Eddie, Sweets Corner; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchild.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by wife, Irene; his former wife, Jessie Harvey; brothers, Murray and Ray Veinot; sister, Jean Galley; step-son, Wilfred Harvey.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, December 30, 2013 in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2013, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Jennifer Riley officiating. A private family interment will be held in the Belmont Cemetery, Belmont.
